WOW!! I can't believe it's the end of March already. Originally we brought the boat down from the Chesapeake in the fall to winter over at St. Johns Yacht Harbor in Charleston. It's been a good choice as winter weather was tolerable and the location convenient with only a 4 hour drive home. We rented the slip through the end of this month so on Monday 4/1/19 we'll move the boat to Ross Marine around the bend on the Stono River for a bottom cleaning, paint job and new zincs. Hopefully the radar installation will get completed at the same time while Martha and I undertake giving the boat a good waxing with extra coats of wax on the bow to make it easier to remove the unavoidable ICW tannin moustache.
We've been busy getting things organized on the boat, making sure it was ship shape and finding just the right places to store all our "stuff". Martha's been coordinating with all the neighbors at the "dirt house" to make sure things get looked after while I've been getting all the vehicles squared away. Looks like we'll be hoisting the Looper flag within a week or two and beginning the first leg of our journey to Norfolk,VA to meet up with other loopers at the Spring Rendezvous. Once underway we'll start posting and including pictures on a more regular basis.
This beautiful yacht is also on the hard at Ross's across from us - makes us look puny. We stepped it off and it's over twice as long as ours so probably 75' - 80' plus. Decided it would make a nice "next boat" if we hit the lottery.
